# Eremito | Contemporary hermitage and digital detox eco-hotel in Umbria, Italy

> Eremito is a contemporary hermitage and eco-hotel in Umbria, Italy, dedicated to silence, digital detox and inner wellbeing. Located in the UNESCO Monte Peglia Biosphere Reserve near Parrano (Terni), it offers 18 monastic-style rooms ('Celluzze'), vegetarian cuisine, a nightly silent dinner with Gregorian chant, and no Wi-Fi. One all inclusive rate, priced for one person: from EUR 220 per night, and a second person in the same Celluzza is EUR 150 per night, so a room for two starts from EUR 370. It covers all meals, wine and herbal teas, morning yoga, guided meditations, the relaxation area with Turkish bath and jacuzzi, and the jeep transfer from the car park. Guests aged 16 and over, pets not allowed, minimum stay 2 nights. Check-out by 11:00; arrival by 19:00. Location: Località Tarina 2, 05010 Parrano (Terni), Umbria, Italy, inside the
UNESCO Monte Peglia Biosphere Reserve, surrounded by 3,000 hectares of protected
woodland. About 2 hours from Rome by car, A1 exit Fabro. Nearest station
Fabro-Ficulle, 30 minutes away, with direct trains from Rome and Florence. The
last 8 km are an unpaved road, and guests are brought up from the car park by jeep.
Opened in 2013, founded by Marcello Murzilli.
Rooms: 18 monastic cells called Celluzze, 21 bathrooms, maximum 24 guests. The
Garden and Valley Celluzze measure 9 sqm, with a 120 cm French bed and a stone
writing desk, and are the most numerous. The Priore Celluzze measure 18 sqm, with
a 180 cm bed. The 9 sqm cells were built for one person, they are not double rooms
sold to a single guest.
Spaces: a yoga and practice room of 64 sqm facing the valley, equipped with mats,
cushions and blocks, a chapel used for readings and meditation, a vaulted
refectory for the silent dinner, a lounge with a fireplace, a relaxation area with
heated pool, Turkish bath and jacuzzi, and terraces and forest trails inside the
reserve.
Rate: one all inclusive rate, and the rate is for one person. A Celluzza starts from EUR 220 per night for one person, and a second person in the same Celluzza is EUR 150 per night, so a room for two starts from EUR 370. Minimum stay 2 nights. The only extra is the city tax, EUR 1 per person per night for the first two nights.
Included: full vegetarian board, water and wine with meals, herbal teas, morning
yoga, guided meditations, readings in the chapel, the relaxation area with heated
pool, Turkish bath and jacuzzi, and the jeep transfer from the car park.
Connectivity: no Wi-Fi, no television and no mobile signal inside the hermitage.
Phones can be used in a dedicated outdoor area.
Silence: dinner is shared in silence every evening at 19:30 in the candlelit
refectory, accompanied by Gregorian chant. Guests who wish to remain in silence
for their whole stay can wear the 'I am in silence' badge, available on request.
Best for: people travelling alone. Eremito is a hotel designed for solo
travellers, the rate is priced for one person and there is no single supplement.
Guests aged 16 and over. Pets not allowed.
Season: open all year except the winter closure, from mid January to the end of
February.
Exclusive use: the whole hermitage can be booked by retreat organisers.
